Programs

  • Character & Leadership

    Torch Club

    For members ages 9-12.  Is the Boys & Girls Club national leadership program for 10-12 year olds. Members learn leadership skills through participating in community service projects.  Torch Club members assist with planning fun activities for club members (i.e. field trips and social events).  Times TBA.

    Keystone Club

    For members ages 13-18.  Keystone is a youth leadership club for teenagers.  Members will participate in community service activities and projects.  Members will learn  to enhance leadership and communication skills.  Members will also participate in fundraisers, fieldtrips and social events.  Times TBA.

    Youth of the Month

    Every Month a member who is a  good citizen, hworker and a positive peer will be recognized. Members will also be recognized weekly for their contributions and participation in programs in the club as students of the week. 

    Youth of the Year

    Will be awarded to a member  who has  made exceptional contributions in the club, has been involved with club activities/events, volunteered, and has exemplified all the positive characteristics of a Boys & Girls Club memberwill be selected to compete in The Boys & Girls Club of Greate Washington’s  Youth of the Year contest to represent the Jellef Branch.

    Compostion Competion and Journalism Club

    Members will be taught writing skills throughout the school year and there will be monthly writing contests. Teens will also participate in a Journalism Club every Wednesday 6:30 –8pm.  

    Library Programs

    There will be library trips monthly and all members will be assisted in obtaining a DC library card. We will also have special visits from the DC library.  Times TBA.

     

    Health  & Life Skills

    SMART Programs

    Boys & Girls Club Health and Life Skills programming for 5-12 year olds. SMART Girls for girls 12 & up. Passport to Manhood for Boys 12 & up.  Times TBA.

     

    The Arts

    Visual Arts

    Come learn the basics of art and design.  This program is open to all members and is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

    Music Program

    The music program will return. We will have lessons two nights a week. Lessons will be $10 per lesson in drums keyboard, bass and guitar. There will be a music show quarterly. Times TBA. Music program sign up date will be September 18. There will also be choir and singing programs with Tony Small.

     

    Sports Fitness And Recreation

    Game Room Tournaments

    For kids of all ages.  Every Friday we will have a tournament in one or more different activities - pool, air hockey, ping-pong, foosball and more!  Fridays at 4:00pm. Times TBA.

    Sports programs

    Members will have free gym time throughout the week. In addition one day a week members will exercise, learn a sport or have a sporting tournament. Times TBA.

    Tell a friend

    Please share your positive experiences at Jelleff with a friend and bring a friend to the club to participate in our fall programming. We will have a bring a friend day.

    Adult Volleyball - Run by the Ski Club of Washington, DC.  Mondays 6:30—9:00PM @ Jelleff.  $8.00 Admission fee.
