Gracias. Merci.  Arigato.  Mahalo.  There are so many ways to say ‘thanks’.  Regardless of the language, there is one thing that rings true, saying ‘thank you’ is a sincere expression of gratitude.  This is the perfect time to pause and take a moment to declare our heartfelt appreciation for our cherished supporters and the many ways they make a lasting impact.

While the list is long, here are a few things for which I am most thankful:

The ability to keep our doors open for the nearly 14,000 youth throughout our 75-mile reach. Our Clubs offer a place where kids are safe to play and be themselves. We are truly a “home away from home”.

The joys of shaping the minds of children through innovative programs such as our Pepco STEM Club, Fearless Girls, Healthy Habits, Passport to Manhood, Goals For Graduation, Youth of the Year and many more. Our proven programs expose young minds to new ideas and provide them with skills to prepare them for life.

Dedicated staff and volunteers that provide positive examples of adult leadership. Our kids have access to dependable and caring adults ready to guide them and respond to their individual needs. Our Boards, both Metro and Regional, continue to help provide the revenue resources that we need to provide Great Futures for our members.

Generous corporate and individual donors that fund our mission daily. Their time and financial contributions help us to keep our facilities safe and operational as well as make it possible to enhance the tools and resources needed to make great futures possible.
Most recently, BGCGW had the pleasure of honoring some of our outstanding supporters. In the presence of corporate professionals from across the metropolitan area, we hosted our 12th Annual Youth in Real Estate Luncheon.  Close to 800 members across the real estate industry helped to recognize The Honorable Mayor Muriel Bowser, Liam Brown of Marriott International and Robert J. Murphy of MRP Realty for their contributions to the betterment of our communities.  The event raised over $510,000 to further our mission.  I am deeply grateful to event chair, Greg Meyer and the entire Luncheon Committee for their tireless efforts to create such a successful event.
Simply put, I am truly thankful and humbled by the efforts and gestures of kindness by everyone who supports us! Thanks for being there and being a part of our BGCGW family.
Happy Thanksgiving!
